What we do

Three service lines, handled in the field rather than on a script.

01

Air conditioning repair

Refrigerant leaks, low or no cooling, blower motors that stop, and compressor faults on split and packaged systems.

02

Heating and furnace service

Furnaces that short-cycle, heat pumps that go into lockout, igniters, limit switches, and gas valve diagnostics. Heating problems are usually airflow or an ignition fault, and both are quick to confirm.

03

Seasonal HVAC maintenance

Spring cooling tune-ups and fall heating checks, including coil cleaning, filter service, drain clearing, and electrical testing.

About the company

“If we cannot show you the fault, we do not sell you the part.”

Ocenaside AC & Furnace Repair started out as a two-person repair business working on older central systems in east Austin. The equipment was built to last, and most of it still is, which is why we spend more time on diagnostics than on replacement quotes.

A technician will check airflow at the filter, read static pressure, verify the charge with proper gauges, and look at the electrical side before anything gets recommended. That sequence tells you quickly whether a problem is refrigerant, drainage, airflow, or controls.

We also handle thermostat compatibility, filter replacement, and ductwork inspection, because those three explain a large share of the comfort complaints we see.

Equipment guide

Five parts worth knowing.

Most comfort problems can be traced to one of these. Knowing which one sits where helps you describe the issue accurately when you call.

Indoor air handler and ductwork during equipment service
Air handler and supply duct run. Filter access and coil condition checked together.
Thermostat
Issues the call for cooling or heating. A mismatched or miswired thermostat can stop a new system from running at all.
Air handler
Indoor unit that pulls air through the filter and evaporator coil, then pushes it into the supply ducts.
Condenser
Outdoor unit that rejects heat to the outside air and drives the refrigerant loop.
Filters
A clogged filter starves the coil, drops airflow, and can cause the evaporator to freeze over.
Ductwork
The delivery path. Crushed flex runs and disconnected returns leave rooms short of air.

Upkeep list

On the maintenance page

  1. 01Condenser coil cleaned, fins combed, and the coil surface rinsed.
  2. 02Evaporator coil inspected for dirt, mold, and ice along the drain pan.
  3. 03Filter changed and the filter rack and return grille cleaned.
  4. 04Blower motor speed and capacitor tested at full load.
  5. 05Refrigerant charge verified and superheat checked.
  6. 06Condensate drain flushed and a pan tablet added.
  7. 07Contactor, capacitor, and wiring terminals inspected for heat wear.
  8. 08Thermostat mode, schedule, and fan setting confirmed with the homeowner.

Describe what the system is doing.
We will tell you what we think is wrong.

Cooling that blows warm, a furnace that clicks and never fires, an outdoor unit humming with no fan, a house that stays uneven no matter where the thermostat sits. All of those are diagnosable in one visit most of the time.
